The mountains of Saalbach Hinterglemm are on the one hand characterised by the ruggedly picturesque peaks of the Kitzbüheler Alps, a challenge for all alpine hikers, but on the other hand the Glemm Valley is treasured for the lush mountain pastures and gentle green ridges of Pinzgauer Grasberge, an Eldorado for all hikers and walkers alike who are looking for peace and tranquility on over 400 km well maintained and signposted hiking trails.
A breathtaking view of the snowcovered summits of the Hohen Tauern with it´s 3000 metre peaks and the rocky outlines of the Kalkalpen accompanies the hikers at every turn in an altitude from 1.003 m to 2.100 m. A break taken amidst luscious green meadows, wide mountain pastures and colourful alpine flora awakens and invites the senses to listen, smell, feel and set the soul free.

Four cable cars allow an comfortable ascent without additional costs due to the JOKER CARD and without using too much energy as they take you directly up to the starting point of many hiking tours. Walking on naturally grown surfaces and resilient forest soil is joint-protecting. Due to an AMAS study (Austrian Moderate Altitude Study) activity in an altitude between 1500 and 2500 metres has a positive effect on one´s health.
Special themed hikes for kids like the adventure trails Kodok and Montelino or the alpine flora hiking trail bring valuable information to a picturesque walking tour.
The Alpine Flora Hiking Trail is located at the altitude of 1.544m on the Reiterkogel Mountain and includes over 100 different types of herbs and local alpine flowers with an explanation of their medical and homeopathic effects. At monthly herbal workshops participants collect their favoured healing herbs under the guidance of a professional TEH practitioner and process the herbs onsite to effective tinctures or ointments.
Guided walks to the most popular peaks, long distance hikes like „Pinzgauer Spaziergang“ or „Saalachtaler Höhenweg“ as well as transboundery hikes to neighboring Tyrol are offered every day by skilled hiking guides.
